DEM30 - Magnetic Effect of Current on Parallel Conductors

Objective:

- To show the force between two parallel current-carrying conductors.

Apparatus:

Parallel wire apparatus
Power supply (Twel)
Leads (heavy)

Method:

Connect the leads from the D.C. 30 amp 1 volt terminals directly to the Parallel wire apparatus.
Turn on the power supply and slowly turn up the DC control to maximum to observe maximum deflection... not more than 10 seconds)

Parallel wires carrying currents in opposite directions REPEL each other.
