DS04 - Center of Mass

Objective:

- To show that the center of mass of a body need not be in the center.
- Illustrates a method of finding the center of mass of a body.

Apparatus:

• Different geometric-shaped panels
• Plumb line
• Adapter for suspending panels

Method A:

The center of mass of panels may be determined by suspending them from two or more points, hanging the plumb bob in front of them. Intersecting point is the center of mass.
